      The T-shore training programme for entry-level wind technicians includes 10 modules at EQF Level 4. These modules can be integrated by VET schools into their curricula, depending on national requirements and specific programme needs. The training covers six key competencies identified by industry partners as essential for entry-level technicians (as defined in WP2).

      The matrix above shows where each competency is addressed within the modules:

      • Sand-coloured blocks indicate that the competency is taught but not examined.

      • Blue blocks show that the competency is both taught and examined.

      • The points represent the module’s study load in ECTS credits.

      T-shore main competencies and learning outcomes

      1. Electrical:
       - Understand the basic concepts of electricity and magnetism
        - Diagnose and resolve faults in electrical systems
        - Install and maintain electrical equipment and instrumentation in wind turbines
        - Understand principles of power generation and distribution, as well as grid connection (R4)
        - Apply electrical safety practices in wind energy environments
       
       
      2. Mechanical:
      2.1 Understand and interpret Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic diagrams or schematics
        2.2 Understand fundamental concepts of mechanics, dynamics, thermodynamics and aerodynamics.
        - Install and maintain mechanical components of wind turbines
        - Basic understanding of the design and manufacturing process of wind turbine components (R2)
        - Operate machinery and tools required in the wind industry
        - Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues and breakdowns
      Understand and interpret Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic diagrams or schematics
       

      3. Hydraulics:
        - Understand the basic principles of fluid mechanics and hydraulics
        - Maintain and repair hydraulic systems in wind turbines
        - Understand hydraulic systems for wind energy applications
        - Understand safety protocols related to hydraulic systems
      Understand and interpret Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic diagrams or schematics
       

      4. Health, Safety, and Environment:
        - Understand the regulations and standards related to occupational health and safety
        - Implement safety procedures and protocols for wind energy work environments
        - Understand the environmental impact of wind energy projects, from project development and siting (R1) to operations and maintenance (R6)
        EQF5 – Plan and execute emergency drills and safety training sessions
        - Manage waste and reduce environmental harm
      Perform risk assessments and have the proper safety mindset/risk awareness

      5. Teamwork & Communication:
      - Communicate effectively using verbal skills, industry-specific terminology, and active listening.
      - Interpret and apply industry-standard hand signals for crane operations and equipment movement.
      - Document technical information accurately, including maintenance records and reports, using written and digital tools.
      - Contribute to team problem-solving, integrating diverse inputs to develop effective solutions.
      - Plan and coordinate maintenance tasks, working collaboratively with team members and support staff.
       
       
      6. Familiarisation with the Offshore Renewable Industry:
        - Understand the project development and siting processes (R1), including environmental assessment, site selection, and permitting
        - Learn about design and manufacturing processes of wind turbine components (R2)
        - Understand the design, installation, and maintenance of wind turbine foundations (R3)
        - Gain knowledge of grid connection processes (R4), including grid infrastructure, power transmission, and energy storage
        - Familiarise yourself with assembly and installation procedures (R5) including logistics, project management, and installation techniques
        - Understand the operations and maintenance of wind energy facilities (R6), including routine maintenance, fault detection, and repair processes
        - Gain knowledge of support services and auxiliary equipment (R7), including logistical support, auxiliary machinery, and spare parts management
